The trial of Oscar Pistorius will resume Monday after the prosecution asked for time to consult witnesses.
Prosecutor Gerrie Nel is expected to call more than 100 witnesses for the trial, which is now expected to conclude around April 4, according to SF Gate.
The prosecution's strategy is to paint Pistorius as someone who was reckless with weapons and obsessed with owning them.
Today's witnessballistics expert Chris Mangena told the court that Pistorius' girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp was "standing in front of the door facing the door" when Pistorius shot her.
Steenkamp was shot three times by Pistorius, first in the hip, and then twice after she was knocked down by the bullet. During Mangena's testimony, Pistorius put his thumbs into his ears to prevent himself from hearing Mangena speak.
Mangena said that the first bullet fired by Pistorious would have knocked Steenkamp over, and there was probably a delay before the final three bullets, two of which struck Steenkamp, were fired.
Nel is expected to call more ballistics and forensic experts in his witness list as the trial continues. Previously, the prosecution called neighbors and staff to give information on what they heard the night of the murder.
On March 3, Pistorius pleaded not guilty to one charge of murder and a firearms charge associated with Steenkamp's killing.
If convicted, Pistorius faces 25 years in jail.
