Procter & Gamble Launches London 2012 Olympic Games Thank You Mom' Campaign And Announces Partnership with Chinese Olympic Committee

(Water Cube, Beijing, 28 February, 2012) Today, the landmark building of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games – the Water Cube - went China red. P&G a Worldwide Partner of the International Olympic Committee, announced a far reaching partnership with the Chinese Olympic Team and unveiled their ‘Thank You Mom’ campaign for the London 2012 Olympic Games. It is the largest scale program in the Company’s history and is the first milestone in P&G’s far-reaching ten-year partnership with the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Nine leading P&G China brands, including Pantene, Rejoice, Head & Shoulders, Safeguard, Olay, Pampers, Crest, Duracell and Gillette will join the campaign that will celebrate the unsung hero behind every athlete – Mom. Favorite Chinese athletes including Lin Dan, Chen Yi Bing, Wu Min Xia and He Wen Na joined P&G at a Press Conference to express their thanks to their moms whose love has inspired all their achievements in the Olympic Games and make this great nation proud.

"We believe that behind every athlete is an even more amazing mom," said Marc Pritchard, P&G Global Marketing and Brand Building Officer. "P&G is in the business of helping moms. Through our ‘Thank You Mom’ program we will support not just the moms of Olympic athletes – but every mom who does whatever it takes to make her child’s life the best it can be."

Said Ms. Xiao Min, Vice President of the Chinese Olympic Committee,"We are glad that P&G is now united in partnership with the Chinese Olympic Team, making a difference for athletes, moms and their families."

P&G’s brands will sponsor world-class athletes, who will be featured in advertising and retail campaigns. Elite Chinese athletes supported through the partnership include:

- He Wen Na Trampoline Crest

Lin Dan said "It’s my great honor to join the P&G Proud Sponsor of Mom campaign. My mom is among the most important persons behind me as unsung hero. It’s with all these supports that inspired all my achievements as a Chinese athlete. Please give best wishes to me and all the Chinese athletes for our best performances in the coming London 2012 Olympic Games."
