Pistorius Speaks Before Upcoming Testimony

(ATR) Oscar Pistorius broke his silence and spoke to reporters briefly at the end of Tuesday's session.

Pistorius said that he is going through "a tough time" as the prosecution closes its case against the Paralympian. He added there is"a lot of stuff ahead of us" as the defense will begin its questioning on Friday.

Pistorius' lawyer Brian Webber spent this week providing evidence that Pistorius and Steenkamp were a loving couple. Webber showed a CCTV video of Pistorius and Steenkamp kissing at the Pretoria convenience store, as well as affectionate text messages between the couple.

Police IT expert captain Francois Moller determined 90 percent of the 1,000 conversations he analyzed were loving.

Prosecutor Gerrie Nel questioned the context of the CCTV video while presenting text messages between the couple showing them fighting repeatedly.

A message from January 27, 2013 read, "I'm scared of you sometimes and how you snap at me." Nel added that many of the loving conversations between the couple were short and brief, while their fights showed Pistorius to be jealous and possessive.

As the messages were read out Monday, Pistorius was seen crying in the courtroom.

Pistorius will soon take the stand for cross-examining as part of the defense team's strategy. Webber said that Pistorius is "likely" to testify in the beginning of the defense's examination, which begins Friday.
