(ATR) More is needed from the next Pan American Games hosts when they meet with leaders of the Pan American Sports Organization in Qatar next week.

Organizers of the Lima 2019 Pan American Games (COPAL) welcomed the PASO leaders from Oct. 28-31 for the first inspection visit with 1,000 days to go until the showcase event.

Following the meeting, PASO provided COPAL with a ‘to-do’ list of information that Lima 2019 organizers must have ready when PASO leaders convene on Nov. 17 in Doha, Qatar on the heels of the ANOC General Assembly.

During the inspection, Lima 2019 took PASO leaders such as president Julio Maglione and vice president Ivar Sisniega to works for the games including the Andrés Avelino Cáceres Sports Complex that will stage track and field events and renovations at the Lima Regattas Club that will stage rowing.

Lima 2019 and the Peruvian Olympic Committee staged the 1,000 days to go event at the Flor de Amancaes Park in between venue visits. PASO says more than 1,000 people attended the event at the park where training facilities for the games have been built.

"During these days we have been in Lima, we have felt the commitment that authorities have towards the Games: from the President of the Republic of Peru (Pedro Kuczynski) to the people that have attended this One Thousand Days event," Maglione said in a statement.

Now that PASO is reassured of the support for the event in Peru, it wants more specific information from organizers about how they will stage the quadrennial event.

PASO wants information regarding the financial plan for the next three years, the number of people appointed in each area, key staff members, the number of expected athletes and spectators, services to be provided at the Pan American Village, the number of buses needed, details about ongoing venue projects and the training plan for bus drivers.

COPAL president Carlos Neuhaus said that organizers will provide additional information regarding accreditations, volunteer staff and technological services such as Wi-Fi during the ANOC meeting.

Lima 2019 must also provide an information station at each of the National Olympic Committees within PASO by no later than April 2017.

The Lima 2019 Pan Am Games will be held from July 26 to Aug. 11.
