(ATR) Usain Bolt and Carl Lewis joined the World Olympians Association in the fight against Ebola.
The two Olympians are taking part in #TargetEbola,a new WOA campaign designed to battle the virus in Sierra Leone and other afflicted areas in West Africa.
According to a WOA release, two-time Olympian and Sierra Leone native Dr Francis Dove Edwin is on the presidential task force to help prevent the spread of Ebola in his country by raising funds among Olympians.
"This is a critical time in our fight against Ebola and I encourage my fellow Olympians, and the general public to back the #TargetEbola campaign and donate whatever they can," Edwin said.
Also helping out are poverty and disaster relief agency Oxfam, and US humanitarian NGO Medisend International.
"Oxfam's teams are working with local communities to stop the spread of Ebola by ensuring people know how to protect themselves," the release said.
"Medisend International is training healthcare workers and shipping critical medical and personal protective supplies to doctors and nurses on the front lines of the battle against Ebola."
Other notable Olympic figures to support the campaign include Claudia Bokel, Sergey Bubka, Koji Murofushi, Pernilla Wiberg and Yang Yang.
