(ATR) The head of Moscowâ??s bid for the 2012 Olympics says â??we are satisfiedâ? with its presentation to the European Olympic Committee in Dubrovnik.

â??We can deliver what we promiseâ?, Alexander Chernov tells Around the Rings.Com., although observers say Moscow will have to try harder.

Along with Chernov the Moscow presentation included appearances by international relations manager Alexei Sorokin and broadcaster and former basketball pro Julia Borodovsky, now public relations director for the bid.

Also on hand was Vice Mayor Valery Shantsev, the chairman of the bid committee. In a speech accompanied by slides, he stressed the public support the Olympic bid enjoys in Moscow and the ability to host all the events within the city limits.

And, he admitted to the EOC delegates that Moscow was indeed an underdog in the race.

Given the comments of observers in Dubrovnik to Around the Rings, Moscow will need to lift its game, at least in its presentation, if it is to be considered more seriously. The video used to illustrate 21st century Moscow seemed like something from the 1950â??s, opined one of the audience members.

While the appearance of the vice mayor was considered an important display of commitment from the Moscow city government (he was not coming as of last week), observers say his speech in Russian was not an effective way to communicate.
