(ATR) USA leads the medals haul at the PanAm Games in Lima.

Lima, Sunday July 28, 2019  -  Anastasija Zolotic from Usa won the gold medal in the Women under 57 kg Taekwondo competition. Skylar Park,lef, from Canada won the silver medal and Nishy Lindo, and  Fernanda Aguirre won the bronze medal at the Villa Deportiva Regional del Callao at the Pan American Games Lima 2019.

(ATR) - The United States, Mexico, and Brazil are the top three performing countries as of midday Tuesday.

With 46 medals, USA leads the medals tally. Nineteen of those medals are gold.

Mexico is in second with 34 medals; 12 of those are gold.

Brazil rounds out the top three with 27; eight of those are gold.

Host country Peru is currently in eighth place with nine medals.

Peru won its fourth gold medal Monday in waterski.

Qualifications for Tokyo 2020 begin Tuesday for handball where five matches will take place.

Medals will be contested Tuesday in Artistic gymnastics, beach volleyball, bowling, canoe sprint, handball, modern pentathlon, shooting, waterski, and weightlifting.

More than 6,000 athletes are competing in 39 sports. The Games end on Aug. 12.
