(ATR) The Jordan Olympic Committee have issued a four year strategy for sport for the next Olympic cycle.
The strategy was presented by secretary general Nasser Majali.
"As the lead organisation for sport in Jordan, we are confident that this ambitious strategic plan will elevate Jordanian sport to a higher level, both here at home and on the international stage," Majali said in a statement.
The new initiative describes five "strategic drivers" with topics including ensuring safety and development of the country's athletes along with boosting standards of national federations.
According to the strategy, the Jordan Olympic Committee intends to send 20 athletes to Tokyo 2020 compared to the eight athletes who participated in the last Summer Games.
Ahmad Abughaush was the only member of Team Jordan to win a medal at Rio 2016.
JOC president HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein and representatives of the Jordan sporting community were all in attendance at the event held at the Dead Sea.
Mongolia NOC Rewards Rio Athletes
All 42 Mongolian athletes who competed in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games received participation pins at a ceremony in Ulaanbaatar.
The pins were presented by Mongolian NOC president Dr. D Zagdsuren and the country's executive board members.
Judo, wrestling, boxing, shooting, athletics and more were all represented at the Games.For the first time Team Mongolia participated in the Taekwondo events at the Rio Games.
The pin ceremony was held at the Mongolian Olympic House.
