(ATR) Olympian William Frullani was banned from competition for seven months for failing a drug test during the Sochi Olympics.
The Italian Olympic Committee’s anti-doping tribunal rendered its decision on Wednesday.
Frullani, 35, was supposed to be Italy’s brakeman in the four-man bobsleigh event. He was kicked off the team and sent home from the Olympics after he tested positive for the banned stimulant dimetylpentylamine.
His ban will expire on April 1, 2015.
Seven Olympians from Sochi failed drug tests. Frullani became the second Olympian to do so when he failed his Feb. 18 drug test.
