(ATR) Rio 2016 director of sport Rodrigo Garcia tells Around the Ringsthe organizing committee received positive feedback from the IOC at the latest project review.

"It is always good to have the IOC here and it allows us to review the project, to listen from people that have delivered Games a number of times," Garcia toldATR.

"So far, I think everything has run smooth and we expect next month we can discuss more with the international federations as well."

The last IOC visit to Rio came during the 2016 Coordination Commission meeting in August, where chair Nawal El Moutawakel called the readiness shown by the Brazilian organizers as delivering a "mood of optimism and attention."

During this week's IOC inspection, El Moutawakel said working groups met to discuss transport, venues, security, spectator experience, technology, workforce and look of the Games among other areas, as Rio gets ready to cross the 250 days to go threshold.

"Clear action plans have been established in all of the areas that were discussed, and we were also happy to observe that the venues are being delivered on time," El Moutawakel said in a statement provided to ATR.

"Rio is moving at full speed to deliver a spectacular event. We have had two very productive days of meetings with the organizing committee and their partners, where the full support of all three levels of government was once again demonstrated with the participation of Governor Pezão, Mayor Paes, and the federal government representatives."

Garcia said that a major talking point for his team with the IOC was discussing feedback from the international federations during the test event program.

"In my specific area, the discussion was pretty good," Garcia added."One of the points came from archery, which was the question of the noise of the venue. The other [major point] is still the water quality. It is not as if the international federations are concerned, but we have to keep monitoring all of the venues to make sure the quality is satisfactory."
