The International Biathlon Union (IBU) has decided to enter into exclusive negotiation with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) to make the EBU its exclusive media rights partner for four biathlon seasons between 2014 and 2018 inclusive, thereby further extending an existing cooperation between the two international bodies.

Subject to finalization of a partnership contract between the parties, the EBU will exploit the multiplatform media rights to all IBU Biathlon World Cups and IBU World Championships during the term, plus a number of other events, guaranteeing that worldwide audiences will have free-to-air access to the elite world biathlon competitions.

The IBU and EBU therefore continue their cooperation, which has been constructive since 1993.
