(ATR) The conference program for the Smart Cities and Sport Summit has been announced.

Presentations will be made on November 6-7 after the opening reception on November 5.The opening reception will be held in the Olympic Museum in Lausanne.

The summit is organized by the World Union of Olympic Cities and will bring together parties interested in "connecting sports and cities."

"I am convinced that we will emerge with new, fresh, and smart ideas on how to combine sport events and sustainable urban development," Daniel Brélaz, president of the World Union of Olympic Cities and mayor of Lausanne, said in a statement announcing the conference.

2014 IRB ConfEx

There are less than 50 days to go until the 2014 World Rugby ConfEx.

A new panel entitled"Concussion – Driving Cultural Change" has been announced. The panel will feature a number of prominent doctors including Dr Martin Raftery, the IRB chief medical officer, to discuss how concussions are changing the sport and player wellness.

The conference will take place in London on November 17-18.

"Our aim is to build on the success of last year’s inaugural event by delivering a truly world-class conference on the issues that really matter to the rugby family and wider sporting community. We look forward to being able to reveal further panellists soon," Bernard Lapasset, chairman of the International Rugby Board, said in a statement.

"World Rugby ConfEx 2014 seeks to draw on the experiences of those involved right at the heart of these big events, while also providing a fantastic opportunity for people to gather, share knowledge, network and build relationships in a unique global environment."

Registration for the 2014 IRB Rugby ConfEx is open. Registrants who book before August 31 will receive 20% off their booking fee.

'The Academy' in Lausanne

TSE Consulting's new management conference, known as 'The Academy', will be held May 27 - 28, 2015, in Lausanne.

The Academy is designed to inspire presidents, board members, secretary generals and senior managers tolook towards different industries to see how they can grow their organizations and to realize what can be learned and used by sport.

"We are very excited as this is just a first step for us in our commitment to taking sports management to new levels," Lars Haue-Pedersen, TSE Consulting managing director, said in a release on Wednesday.

WISE Lausanne

Dates for second edition of the Work in Sports Exhibition, International Convention for Careers in Sports have been released.

The conference will take place on May 6-7, 2015 at Beaulieu Lausanne, the same venue as the first edition.

WISE announced the second edition will focus more on networking and interactive sessions, rather than the 2014 edition's focus on speakers.

More information on the conference will be posted in the coming months.
