(ATR) The Around the Rings team for PyeongChang is complete and on the ground, providing in-depth coverage of the 2018 Winter Olympics. ATR correspondents and photographers have a combined total of 58 Olympics among them.

Beginning late January, six ATR staffers and one freelancer have converged in Korea from across the globe. That is ATR’s biggest winter team ever since Editor Ed Hula began covering the Olympics in Barcelona 1992. The ATR team is based in the Main Press Centre in PyeongChang.

"Two months ago, we were lamenting these Games as the ones nobody cared about. But now with North Korea sending a delegation, and the on-going controversy resulting from Russian doping, the Winter Games are the hottest show in town," Hula said.

Before the Games kicked off, ATR team conducted an exclusive, one-on-one interview with former UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon about the participation of North Korea (listen to the podcast here), and was the only outlet to speak directly with the chef de mission for the North Korea team.

In addition to Hula, ATR team members traveling from Atlanta include content editor Gerard Farek, former Rio bureau chief Aaron Bauer and publisher Sheila S. Hula. Freelancer Everen Brown, a Salt Lake City native, comes aboard to report from the perspective of an Olympic "super fan".

Brian Pinelli, based in the Czech Republic, and Hironori Hashimoto, based in Tokyo, round out the international team.

ATR readers will get a true picture of the flavor of the Games, with reports about everything from events at hospitality houses to pin trading (or lack thereof) to issues involving competition. They also will be treated to extensive and exclusive photo galleries.

The editorial team is supported by senior editor Mark Bisson in England and Kevin Nutley and Javier Monne in Atlanta, and Miguel Hernandez in Orlando.

ATR has been on the scene of every Olympic Games since Barcelona 1992.
