About 975 athletes registered for the world championships, and with Tokyo 2020 just around the corner athletes have plenty of incentive to do well.

Athletes will not only compete for world titles during the championships but also work towards their Olympic goals by earning Olympic qualification points. This year marks the 25th anniversary of taekwondo being included in the Olympic program.

For the first time ever, the championships will be streamed live on YouTube. Click here to watch.
