(ATR) The Beijing/Zhangjiakou 2022 Olympic bid will be a part of the 2014 Chinese Paper Cutting Art Festival.
A traditional Chinese art form, paper cuttings have been used to adorn doors and windows in traditional houses.
Paper cuttings will be judged from August 20 to November 30. Beijing/Zhangjiakou 2022 will judge submissions from the bid cities of winter sports, the stadiums, and the bid logo.
"I hope when people are decorating their windows with paper art in 2022, Olympic champions will be coming to the city at the same time," Zhang Chunsheng a senior official with the Zhangjiakou bid committee told the Chinese-run ENS news service.
If successful, Zhangjiakou would host the alpine events and Beijing would host the ice events.
Beijing, Almaty, Kazakhstan, and Oslo are the 2022 bid cities.
The IOC will select a host at the 2015 IOC Session in Kuala Lumpur.
